sabbath rest

Our family spent a beautiful 2 days at camp Shamineau with other youth pastors and their families. Some of them we have known for years. It refreshes me so much to re-connect with them face to face! The theme for this year's retreat was Sabbath rest. Oh, if I could only sit down and explain all that I am learning about this. You wouldn't know by our schedule when we came home, but it is like my eyes have been opened to another aspect of God's plan for us. He created us to enjoy our hard work in Him and then rest from work and focus only on Him. Ironically, resting takes a lot of work...serious effort and planning on my part.

Funny story. Caspian spent most of his time at the retreat playing with the daughter of my dear friend Sonya. They were great buddies. When we got home, he told his neighbor friend, Alex, that he had a girlfriend at camp. Alex asked him, "Is she beautiful?" Caspian said, "...no...she's pretty."
