This week has been wonderful and non-stop. It's hard to think of where to start and still keep this short. Helen has been in to everything! She is one curious little girl. And we constantly underestimate how far she can reach across the table.
We met our friends that Micah met in Ethiopia at the Red Sea Restaurant in Minneapolis. As always, we could have eaten 5 more baskets of the injera bread. Whenever the waitress brought another basket, my kids would swoop down upon it and make her laugh. Enoch tried a tiny bite of a jalapeno and did very well, although his face was very red and sweaty, poor thing.
After we ate, Micah taught them some magic tricks with a penny and the kids spent quite a while making pennies stick to their foreheads. We had a great time celebrating Micah's life...it was his 37th birthday!
Other happenings of the week...I had to un-garden some of my flowers. We asked a friend to till up a section of the garden and we will be planting grass there. The garden is great for someone without all these little lives that need time and attention. And like the selfish giant says at the end of my favorite cartoon movie, "the children are the prettiest flowers of all." But like our friend Luke said when we left the Red Sea Restaurant, "it's so hard to 'part ways.'"...Red Sea..."part ways"...gotta love a good dad joke...
