the best medicine

Well, they say laughter is the best medicine. This is Helen Tinsaae's new favorite game. The "when Caspian smacks my hand while mom pulls me away from him" game. It's always good for a laugh. We had a lot of laughs this weekend as we celebrated Helen's birthday with her best friend and neighbor, Bailey. Pa (Bailey's grandpa) made the cheesecake and tried unsuccessfully to attack Helen's ninja brothers. If laughter is truly the best medicine, we should be seriously healthy for a long time. Before church Sunday morning, Caspian came in to see Helen Tinsaae in her pretty birthday dress, and yelled to his siblings, "Come in here quick! You've gotta see our little princess!" During church, we sang my favorite songs Amazing Grace (Chris Tomlin version) and Revelation Song with the orchestra playing. I held Helen with my left arm, but my right hand was raised up in worship and my eyes were closed. When I opened my eyes, Helen had her little hand raised just like me! Wish I had a picture of that.

We haven't started her on that yucky medicine yet. We found out there is a second test that may show that a TB vaccine when she was an infant showed a false positive on the skin test. It can tell the difference between a TB vaccine (which won't require 6 months of treatment) and dormant TB virus (which would require the yucky medicine). We are waiting to hear from the experts...
