Christmas presents!

A package arrived for us in the mail. A big box of things from our agency that Micah can bring in his luggage to meet some needs in the CWA orphanages. And with boxes like that, who needs presents! The kids have had hours of fun in that box. They did their math flashcards inside it, colored it with markers while listening to me read about the Vikings. They pretended to be Vikings journeying across the Atlantic. I even hid inside it to suprise the kids one evening. It was duct taped at the corners and well-loved. It wasn't a Velveteen rabbit, but I'm sure that it became a "real boat" in the last week or so.

Well, today the box finally went to the recycling bin. Good thing we need to buy a new dryer! Can't wait to get the new box!

But everyone's favorite present this year will be Helen. On Sunday morning it was Micah's turn to pray. He began to pray about the upcoming trip to get Helen and got so choked up that he quickly asked God to bless the offering and sat down again. Not a dry eye in the room. And the leaders of the church came up to pray for him as well. That in itself has been my dream for at least 3 years. To see the church come alongside us in this giving of our lives which has only just begun. So our biological family is not the only group of people waiting for Helen. She is a gift that God is bringing home to our entire church...And I pray that there will be many others in our community that will choose the gift of adoption.
