The trip to Ethiopia

After walking through an airport full of tulips and wooden shoes, Rebekah realized that Amsterdam was in Holland. But they didn't get to go see any windmills, because it was back on a plane to Khartoum, Sudan. They didn't even exit the plane there. In all, they arrived at their guest house 24 hours after they left the United States.

The next morning, they ate breakfast, and went to get HELEN from the transition home where she had been for just over one month. The nannies there are amazing. Every night we prayed for her caregivers, and they were clearly God's answer.

They spent that first day just getting to know Helen.

Day 2 was spent going over paperwork (CWA had everything perfect) and participating in an official Ethiopian coffee ceremony with the other 6 CWA families.

Day 3 Micah went to the grocery store with Luke in the morning. He looked like a misisonary with his armful of important papers in one arm and Helen in the other as they went to the US Embassy that afternoon. As they waited with the other 6 CWA families, they met a family from my hometown that adopted an 11 year old who Helen loved riding with in the van around Addis. We hope to reunite them whenever we are able to visit my family in Valparaiso.
